Back in the last week of school I set the challenge to make each of the bags in a new book I got as a gift. Then I fell into a heap of exhaustion and illness...Yay me!
But, I always follow through my goals, and don't like an unfinished project - sure, some may sit on the side lines for a long time but they are never truly abandoned! ( I don't like' them' looking at me in 'their' bags on the shelf next to the sewing machine...)
Yesterday afternoon I watched a season of Downton Abbey, and while swooning over the featured gorgeous clothing I created the first of the bags, the SUNGLASSES CASE, using my Spoonflower printed fabric - created with a modified photo of some birthday gerberas I got from the girls at school.
I think I would alter the method for attaching the closing flap but the shape and darts allow for even large deep Cancer Council approved sunnies! Excellent! A neat little magnetic catch and it's done!
I think many students at school would make this one but I imagine many would prefer it as a small purse...looking through the book that style come on a bit further. Next bag is a lovely deep pencil case with velcro. This is something most kids would create - and traditionally it's been a Home Ec project for ever! This is a funky version that is sure to appeal.
